Ian Murray MP (Labour, Edinburgh South) supports We Stand With Shaker, and signed the open letter to President Obama calling for Shaker Aamer’s release from Guantánamo on July 4th, US Independence Day. He says, “Justice can only be served when it is transparent. As long as the government are not transparent about why Shaker Aamer is not being released from Guantánamo, it’s difficult for campaigners and MPs to know where to be putting the pressure on.”
