Yasmin Qureshi MP (Labour, Bolton South East) says, “We pride ourselves in believing in the rule of law, and that means that one must have a fair trial, and if someone isn’t convicted of criminal wrong doing they should be released immediately and given the precious gift of freedom. Our government are taking away an innocent person’s right to have a free life, the right to spend it with his wife, children and family, and the right to walk free and not be incarcerated. These things are a big blot on the reputation of democratic civilised nations.”
